Big-Block Modifieds, Dirt Late Models Racing Tonight!
Wednesday's rain-delayed program runs Friday afternoon, gates open 11 a.m.
BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Feb. 23, 2012 — Volusia Speedway Park is gearing up for a huge night of action at the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. The Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds will compete with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in one of the most anticipated twin bills of the entire month. Grandstands open at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7:20 p.m.
Champions Matt Sheppard from the Super DIRTcar Series and Rick Eckert from the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will receive their rings and then strap in for a wild night of racing action on the Volusia half-mile dirt oval.
A heavy downpour rolling through Central Florida on Wednesday afternoon forced officials to reschedule that event to Friday afternoon, creating another big doubleheader with Friday’s regularly scheduled event. On Friday, the first of two complete shows for the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds and DIRTcar Late Models will begin with the pits opening at 10 a.m., grandstands at 11 a.m. and on-track action at 12:30 p.m. Following the completion of the make-up event, the regularly scheduled program will run Friday night with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p .m.
Wednesday night’s tickets will be good for Friday afternoon’s event.
