BARBERVILLE, FL – Feb. 17, 2010 - Dave Hess Sr. was fairly confident that his son, Dave Hess Jr., would emerge as the UMP Modified points champion of the 39^th annual DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway Park.

The elder Hess was so confident, in fact, that when DIRTcar Racing officials went to retrieve a DIRTcar Feature Winner sign from Hess Jr.’s pit after he the opening round of UMP Modified action on Feb. 3, he said with a smile, “You might as well leave it here.”

Matt Sheppard closed out his visit to Volusia Speedway Park last February with a pair of Top-3 feature finishes and some added confidence for the 20-hour trip home.

Brady Smith earned the third World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory of his career when he took the checkered flag on Saturday night in the DIRTcar Nationals By University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway Park.

Barberville, FL – February 12, 2010 – A steady rain that began overnight never let up and for the fourth time during the 39^th Annual DIRTcar Nationals By University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway Park, officials were forced to cancel the night’s doubleheader action.
